Eugene Mirman goes shirtless in snowstorm to give brave weather report

Digg!

Beyond being one of the most entertaining and talented stand-up comedians in the country, cranking out three stellar albums, producing a comedy festival named after himself and writing a book, Eugene Mirman, has for years, been entertaining us with his goofy viral videos.

In December of last year, he bestowed upon the World Wide Web a series of “reporting” packages for Earth-friendly website Grist.org. And now, the versatile comedian can add “fake, shirtless weatherman” to his resume! Check out his report below, filmed, we imagine, during the East Coast’s latest dumping of snow from heaven.

Seriously, though, Eugene. No nipple?

All over the country, artists of all kinds are producing benefits to raise money for Haiti. And comedians are no different. Last week, one of our favorite clubs, Comix, where we film our interview series A Tight Five, hosted a pretty stellar night of comedy for Haiti, featuring performances by Dave Attell, Janeane Garofalo, Eugene Mirman, Wyatt Cenac, Todd Barry and more.

Also on hand was Mike Mitchell, the creator of the “I’m with Coco” poster. A signed-by-Conan version of the print was auctioned of for $1,650 on Jan. 28, the night of the show.

The venue raised $7,625 on admission to the showroom, an extra $80 for bar admission, $2,100 on auctions, $780 in live raffles and more than $1,332 in eBay auctions. In fact, there’s still more live auctions on eBay. Check them out here. And check out some photos (above and after the jump) taken by Mindy Tucker from the fundraiser.

Eugene Mirman starts leg-in-recycling-can fad

At the time of this writing, international man of travel Eugene Mirman is back home in New York. But he did spend a week in Copenhagen, Denmark where he was covering the UN Climate Conference for planet-friendly website Grist.org. We’ve been happily posting all of his dispatches, which you can see here.

Here’s the final installment in his epic reporting stint. With the people skills we’ve seen from Eugene recently, we predict that in 2010, he will become a full-time correspondent for the Disney Channel, interviewing the likes of Selena Gomez and those twins that played that kid in Big Daddy.

Eugene Mirman inspects major dong in Copenhagen

Digg!

Four Eugene Mirman videos in less than a week? Is it too much? Is he polluting the Internet much like the Danish climate change protesters claim dirty corporations are polluting the world? Maybe. But who are we to judge? What we will say about this dispatch from Copenhagen, where Mirman is covering the UN Climate Conference for Grist.org is that there are a lot of penis references. It’s polluted with penises, if you will. So sit back and enjoy. And stop fucking up the environment.

And be sure to check out Mirman’s other video reports from Copenhagen here, here and here.

Eugene Mirman forces Copenhagen man to apologize for incessant dance music

Digg!

Since last Friday, we’ve been gleefully posting Eugene Mirman’s dispatches from Copenhagen, Denmark where he’s sort of, barely, not really at all, covering the UN Climate Conference for Grist.org. We’ll admit — and maybe this is the point — we had no idea such a conference existed before our friend Eugene tricked us into knowing about it. We feel smarter, but somehow dirtier for learning something.

Anyway, in this installment, Eugene talks to a polar bear — is it real or not? — represents the United States by handing out climate literature and forces a local to apologize for his city’s penchant for piping in loud, crappy dance music in every square inch of Copenhagen.

Check out Mirman’s first two videos from Denmark here and here.

Eugene Mirman tries to rent a bear at Copenhagen protest

On friday, we brought to you the first dispatch from Eugene Mirman’s trip to Copenhagen, Denmark where he’s covering the UN Climate Conference for Grist.org. In his second report, Mirman checks out a protest in Parliament Square where he asks about renting a bear, interviews a dog and chats with protesters who protest the protest. Fun! Check it out.

Eugene Mirman interviews pigeons, stands in trash

Digg!

Man of all seasons Eugene Mirman is in Copenhagen, Denmark working as a special correspondent for Grist.org in an attempt to make sense of the UN Climate Conference, which is taking place in said city. Grist, by the way, is an organization that’s been promoting all things green since 1999; they put it thusly: “At Grist, we take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Because of the many things this planet is running out of, sanctimonious tree-huggers ain’t one of them.”

So, it makes sense they’d send Mr. Mirman. You know, the whole make us laugh and sneak some learnin’ in there? Though this first dispatch doesn’t have much of the learnin’ portion, it is gosh darn funny. Check it out.

Eugene Mirman, Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal and more join Fox animated show

Digg!

mirm2Sick of watching the same Family Guy re-runs over and over? Me neither. But there is a promising new option under way for fans of animated hilarity. Fox is getting ready to air Bob’s Burgers, an animated comedy from Loren Bouchard and Jim Dauterive, the minds behind Dr. Katz and King of the Hill, respectively. What’s more, comedians Eugene Mirman, H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal and Dan Mintz have all signed on to voice characters on the show.

Bob’s Burgers came out of the fact that Fox’s animation brand centers mostly on family – but that he also wanted to dabble in workplace comedy” Brouchard told Variety. “Besides the focus on the family and its restaurant, Bob’s Burgers will also tell stories about the town that surrounds it. It’s a little more urban than other shows going on. Bob’s Burgers has an outer-borough, Jersey feel to it.”

The half hour comedy is set to air in early 2011.
