New Mitch Hedberg album set for release this year
The new Mitch Hedberg album, as of yet untitled, is in the rough-cut phase, according to comedian Lynn Shawcroft, Hedberg’s widow who’s overseeing the project.
“The audio for the album was taken from a weekend of shows three months before Mitch died,†Shawcroft told PunchlineMagazine.com Tuesday. “He wasn’t recording these sets for release so there’s mistakes in there. But I like that. Mitch was at the point where he was doing new and old material, so we’re going through it now trying to pick out the new stuff. I want it to be a new material CD— not a best of.â€
Though an official release date hasn’t been set, the album will likely drop between July and September of this year on Comedy Central Records.
“It’s hard to be the person who has to speak for Mitch,†says Shawcroft, “but I’m really excited.â€
This month marks the third anniversary of Hedberg’s death at the age of 37.

I didn’t even know that he was dead until 2008, so sad. He was very funny and could have been a big name. I hate to see things like this happen to people of good nature.

sad when someone so full of awesome talent as mitch is taken from us too soon.he was the best!can’t wait for the new cd.we miss you.
