NBC announces Last Comic Standing premiere date
As we reported on Jan. 20, NBC had officially decided to bring back Last Comic Standing after a year hiatus. The Office’s Craig Robinson, a solid stand-up comedian, was tapped to host the show more than a month later. And now, we can tell you that the show will premiere June 7 with a special two-hour show. The show’s seventh season will try to find who they consider to be the best comic in the country; in years past, NBC had gone to other select countries as well for talent. The winner of the contest this year will $250,000 and a talent deal with NBC.
And if you’re looking to get in on the LCS action and you’re in the Los Angeles area, they’ll be two showcase shows at the Improv on March 7 and 8, featuring comedians vying for a spot on the show. Robinson will be there to host the festivities. Call 323-651-2583 for reservations.
