Natasha Leggero cast on Reno 911! writers’ NBC pilot

Digg!

Natasha LeggeroOn Jan. 21, we reported that the super writer pair from Reno 911! sold a pilot to NBC. And now the news just gets better. Stand-up comedian Natasha Leggero — who’s appeared on Reno 911! – has been cast in the new pilot starring and written by Reno 911!’s Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant.

Named The Strip, the show is about Lennon, a former kid star who runs a strip mall restaurant in Las Vegas that boasts scantily clad, big-breasted waitresses. Leggero, not big breasted at all, plays a “party-girl waitress,” according to the Futon Critic. Former Reno 911! star and Cedric Yarbrough also stars as Mr. Maurice a regular patron of the establishment.

As with all pilots, this show may never see the light of day. But we have our fingers crossed. What is certain, however, is that you’ll be able hear Natasha voice one of the main characters on Comedy Central’s new animated show Ugly Americans, which premieres March 17 at 10:30 pm EST. The show also features comedians Mike Britt, Kurt Metzger and Pete Holmes. Check out a pair of previews below.
