In celebration of their 40th anniversary, Sesame Street’s most popular monster, Elmo, ruined Ricky Gervais’ sold out New York Comedy Festival show at Carnegie Hall by appearing with him in a musical finale. Oh, we’re kidding. That little red terror didn’t ruin anything; it was simply adorable! Decked out in tuxes, the pair sang “New York, New York,” while traditional New York City images flashed behind them.

Now, you might think this in an odd pairing, but it turns out Gervais once before worked the camera with little Elmo. Check out this video from earlier this year where Gervais hilariously busts Elmo’s furry, little balls.

Love you Ricky, please allow us to shout out Karl Pilkington quotes on your tour. I’ll be in Brighton!

Every new morsal or success Ricky Gervais receives tickles me to no end. There is such an integrity to his character. I am hopelessly addicted to his comedy, digital self portraits and his pals Steve, Karl and Robin. I am suggesting to my son’s school that they forego the usual Secret Santa routine and raise money instead for the various Oxfam gift choices. Thanks for putting that link on your website Ricky. But please – MORE PICTURES OF OLLIE for we Siamese cat lovers!

Great little sketch with Elmo. I too am seeing Ricky on his current tour – next week in Bournmouth. Looking forward to it!

Was one of the lucky at Carnegie Hall and also saw Ricky two weeks prior in Newcastle! He’s the most brilliant comedian alive! My husband tells me that I help fund the Ricky Gervais money machine but I don’t mind! My job is incredibly stressful and the podcasts are my escape from reality! Keep them coming Ricky, Steve and Karl!!! Can’t wait till the HBO show!
