Jimmy Pardo’s ‘Never Not Funny’ plans nine-hour broadcast for charity

Digg!

Jimmy PardoFans of Never Not Funny, rejoice! The high-profile podcast in its fourth year, hosted by comedian Jimmy Pardo, will be running a staggering nine hour live “Pardcast-a-thon” on Friday, Nov. 27 from 9pm to 6am Pacific time.

But this isn’t just rambling – indeed, the marathon podcast is hilarious rambling for a cause. Pardo, along with producer/co-host Matt Belknap and Pat Francis will raise money and awareness for their favorite charity – The Smile Train.

What is the Smile Train, you ask? According to the organization’s official site:

Unlike many charities that do many different things, The Smile Train is focused on solving a single problem: cleft lip and palate. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. Aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job. And face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation, pain and heartache. The good news is every single child with a cleft can be helped with surgery that costs as little as $250 and takes as little as 45 minutes.

Apparently, Never Not Funny never knows when to quit – and aren’t we all the luckier for it? Make sure you tune on Nov. 27 at pardcast.com. There will be a donation button on the live stream site with a running tally. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Pardo says of broadcasting throughout the night. “I just didn’t really know if it was possible.”
