The idea of Pizza Hut’s viciously unhealthy and shamefully delicious recipes — Triple Meat Italiano and Hershey Chocolate Dunkers, anyone? — have worked their way into many a comedian’s material. But now, instead of poking fun at the culinary treats the Hut offers, Jim Breuer has embraced the food giant by getting paid to promote said pizza. And we say good for him.

His commercial for Pizza Hut’s new stuffed crust pan pizza — featuring “a ring of melty cheese stuffed deep into [a] golden crispy crust” — began airing yesterday, coinciding with the official launch of the product. But even more interesting, is that the marketers at Pizza Hut decided to “leak” some outtakes of the commercial shoot, wherein Breuer gets so infuriated with a crew member that he shoves him into a pool. Of course, this is just a case of viral marketing. Breuer doesn’t actually shove the dude in the pool because he was angry; he does it because it was planned. And it’s funny.

The viral video plan seems to be working. A Google search for Breuer and Pizza Hut yields no less than a dozen pages of results for the below video.
