Martin Lawrence lines up TV projects
Martin Lawrence is flocking to TV, or are TV execs flocking to Martin Lawrence? Regardless of the syntax, the venerable stand-up vet’s production company, Runteldat, is lining up a number of television projects for the fall ‘09 season, according to theĀ Hollywood Reporter.
In its grand tradition of animation domination, the Fox network is in the works to produce a half-hour animated sitcom based on Lawrence’s childhood in the Washington, D.C. area. The Starz network, too, has jumped aboard the Lawrence bandwagon with a “single-camera interracial family show based on the comedy of Gary Owen.” Additionally, a third project, a family comedy set in a funeral home, has yet to be picked up by any network.
