Comedian Al Franken wins Democratic primary

We’re one step closer to having a comedian in the U.S. Senate, with SNL alum Al Franken winning the Democratic Senate primary in Minnesota. Franken easily won the seven-way competition, earning nearly 70 percent of the vote. The comedian will now face incumbent Republican senator Norm Coleman in the general election.
